Who Is Ron Newcomb?
Ron Newcomb became an assistant district attorney general in 2008 and has spent years working within the office led by Jimmy Dunn.
Now, Newcomb wants to succeed Dunn as the Fourth Judicial District’s chief prosecutor.
The District Attorney General possesses substantial authority over criminal prosecutions. The individual leading the office should demonstrate integrity, independence, sound judgment, transparency, respect for constitutional rights, and the ability to maintain public confidence.
The No For Newcomb campaign believes Newcomb’s record raises serious questions in each of these areas.
The Real Ron Newcomb: A Record Worth Examining
According to allegations and records highlighted by the campaign, Newcomb has faced controversies involving his professional conduct, grand jury proceedings, constitutional rights, and prosecutorial practices.

Governor Bill Lee will make the appointment.
That means residents will not directly select the immediate replacement through the ballot box. But that does not mean the public has to remain silent.
