About No For Newcomb
OUR ORIGIN
No For Newcomb was established in response to significant public concern surrounding the appointment of Tennessee's next District Attorney General for the Fourth Judicial District. Following the announcement that District Attorney General Jimmy Dunn would retire before completing his elected term, the responsibility for selecting his successor shifted from the voters to the Governor of Tennessee. As citizens sought greater transparency into the appointment process, questions surrounding public records, court proceedings, and prosecutorial conduct became increasingly important. This campaign was created to provide a centralized resource where members of the public can review publicly available court documents, official filings, news reports, and other factual information relevant to the appointment. Our purpose is to encourage informed civic engagement by making public information easier to access while promoting respectful discussion and participation throughout the appointment process.
